先週の金曜日、イスラーム大学内のIntellectual Youth Clubという学生サークルが、日本のイスラームに関して発表する機会を与えてくれました。最初にクラブの代表を務める学生（彼女が今回の発表のオーガナ イザーを務めてくれました）と話した際、先月発表した日本イスラーム史で発表すれば準備もそれほど必要ないかと思ったのですが、４年前のリベンジのつもり で井筒俊彦のクルアーン解釈で発表させていただくことにしました。４年近く前、イスラーム大学を初めて訪問した際、同じテーマで発表したのですが、質疑応 答など語学力不足のために１００人近い聴衆の前で、大恥をかいた記憶が今なお鮮明に焼きついていたからです。
なお、イスラーム大学内で唯一の日本人の友人である浜中あたら君も、日本のマスジド（モスク）について発表を行ないました。
On the last Friday, the student society of Islamic University, Intellectual Youth Club, gave me a chance to have presentation about Islam in Japan. When I talked with the Representative of that club for the first time (she served organizer in this time), I thought it is easy and convenient to talk about History of Islam in Japan that I had presentation the last month, but I decided to talk about the Interpretation of the Qur'an by Toshihiko Izutsu. That my presentation was "revenge" of the presentation four years ago. When I visited Islamic University about four years ago, I failed my presentation about the same topic in front of 100 auditors in the question because I did not have enough language ability. That impression reminds me even now.
At that time, Atara (Atallah) Hamanaka who is my only Japanese friend in the Islamic University had presentation about Masjids (mosque) in Japan.

The title of my presentation was "Toshihiko Izutsu's Weltanshauung (Worldview) of the Qur'an".

学生の皆さんが、私の発表にどういう印象をもたれたのかは分かりませんが、少なくともあたら君の発表は、モスク建設を通していかにネットワークが構築されていったかを理解できる良い発表であったと思います。
I do not know how do the students feel about my presentation, but at least, Atara's presentation is great because we can understand how the network has been constructed thorough the construction of the Mosque.
