カイロでの留学生活も残り半年となり（９月中旬に帰国する予定です）、今までカイロを歩き、感じてきたことを形に残したいと思うようになりました。このブログの更新もすっかり滞っていますが（苦笑）。
以前から気になっていたのが、朝日中東マガジンというウェブ上にアップされる記事でした。お世話になっている方や知り合いが書いているのを知っていたのですが、朝日新聞のカイロ支局で駐在されており、編集もなさっている川上さんとお会いする機会があり、せっかくなので投稿させていただくことにしました。
10年前に比べると、カイロで研究したり、語学留学で来る日本人は激減しました。私はカイロに語学だけを勉強しに来ているわけではないですし、私にしか書けない記事を書きたいという考えから、私の研究（イスラーム思想）に関する内容、私が対象を見る視点である宗教学、そして私が今いるエジプトをミックスさせたいと思っています。
第一回目に書いた記事は「カイロブックフェア」でした。私のような研究をしている者は本がないと研究できないので、本を入手することに情熱を燃やす様子（そして、それを切なく振り返る様子）を書きました。
第二回目は、恐らく今日掲載されるのだと思いますが、「マウリド」（祝祭）のフィールドノートです。この記事は、スーフィズム（イスラーム神秘主義）の研究をしている人間が、マウリドへ行ったらどういう視点で見るのかという辺りを感じていただけるかと思います。私は人類学の徒ではないですし、フィールドワークをメインにしているわけではないのですが、いかに過去が現在と結びついているのかを描こうという試みです。

That I was interested in for a while is the articles of web magazine called "Asahi journal of Middle East" insomuch as I knew that researches who take care of me and my acquaintances publish articles. One day, moreover, I had a chance to meet Mr. kawakami who is the editor of this magazine, so I decided to contribute something.
Comparing to 10 years ago, the number of Japanese who does research and studies language decreases suddenly. Since I am not here to study only language and I want to write original work that only I can write, I would like to mix the contents of my research topic (Islamic thought), Religious Studies as my view point, and Egypt where I am staying now.
The first article was "Cairo book fair." One like me cannot do research without books, so I wrote about the passion to get books (and reflection after purchasing them).
The second one which will be uploaded today is the field note about "mawlid" (festival) . In this article, you will understand what man who studies Sufism (Islamic Mysticism) sees when he goes to mawlid. I am neither the student of anthropology and my research is nor based on field work, but this is the attempt how the past connects with the present.
